Critical Thinking
One of the most important skills we can help students acquire is the ability to think critically. It is important that they learn to search for truth, evaluate information from the media and the rest of their environment and make wise decisions.
Some of the topics included are:
What are the tools we can use to detect baloney?
When students read something on the internet how can we help them judge its value and truthfulness?
When students are faced with moral dilemmas, how can we help them to make wise decisions?
How can we help students identify irrational techniques of persuasion?
How can we help students identify bias in the media?
(Can be 1,2 or 3 hours in length.)
