Successful Aging

Robert Aitken is with the School of Instructor Education at Vancouver Community College. He teaches in the Provincial Instructor Diploma Program and the Diploma in Adult Education Program offered by Vancouver Community College. Courses he teaches include Planning for Instruction, The Adult Learner, Design and Use of Instructional Media, Evaluation of Learning, Evaluation of Instruction, Educational Leadership, Education and the Brain, Collaborative Learning, and Developmental Psychology. He has taught courses for the University of Alberta, University of Calgary, University of British Columbia, University of Victoria and a number of Colleges. He has a M. Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction. (University of Oregon) He is a doctoral candidate in Adult Education. (UBC) He travels extensively working with faculty in colleges and schools, leaders in corporations, government and non-profit organizations to help them realize the value of brain research to teaching, working, leading and living. His practical approach and keen sense of humour guarantee you will find this session fascinating and entertaining.
